Many of you will remember the 2015 edition of the Chatham Cup, when Ngongotaha AFC made the trip up to Keith Hay Park in round 2. Unfortunately for them, but much to the delight of the home supporters, Three Kings emerged victorious 5-2 that day.
Much has changed in that time for Three Kings though. Only 4 members of the matchday squad remain from that fixture – Josh Moody, Scott Wallace, Allan Pearce and Harrison Nash. Ngongotaha AFC on the other hand have 8 survivors.
Three Kings has in recent weeks started to rediscover some form after a mid-season slump, a period which has seen some first team regulars return to action. The team will be confident of building on that form and progressing to the next round.
There are some mouth watering fixtures elsewhere too – with East Coast Bays hosting Birkenhead United, Waitakere City hosting Western Springs, Hamilton Wanderers hosting Bay Olympic, and Napier City Rovers hosting Wairarapa United to name a few.
