Three Kings Utd confirm Scott MacKay as Men’s 1st team coach

Three Kings Utd are delighted to confirm Scott MacKay as Men’s 1st team coach. Scott, formerly of Mt Albert Ponsonby, joins the team at an important time. “In the coming season we are looking at consolidation” MacKay said. Going on to say “Over the coming weeks we will secure the player’s we are in discussions with, who can help the club go forward. Majority of whom have a TKU connection”

The team will be pushing for promotion whilst importantly, developing a team that is made up, in large parts, of TKU players that have been at the club through their youth or have been associated with the club for a number of seasons. DoF Paul Bateson said “the culture, identity and pathways are key and that’s why Scott was brought in. He worked with the club for a number of years in our Youth Metro teams so he has a connection there that we thought was invaluable”

Scott has “secured some of the club’s brightest talent” and will be developing the squad in preparation for a pre-season start in early February and a (provisional) start date for the season of Saturday 30th March 2019. Scott will be joined by Jacob Weaver as his assistant coach.
