Coach’s Comment - Andrew Clay
A warm welcome to spectators and players alike for the start of a new season.
The off season has seen more player movement than normal . What that has meant is that there is a large element of the unknown with most teams this year, including our opponents today. For Three Kings, this year’s squad has been strengthened by the addition of Briony Fisher, Emma Kete, Claudia Crasborn, Hannah Wall, Jessica Rollings, Chelsey Wood and one or two others yet to be confirmed at time of writing.
Add that to the quality of the players already at Three Kings and the tremendous amount of talent coming through the ranks and pressing for first team places and that means things are looking promising as the only players we have lost are Abby Erceg and Maia Jackman to Fencibles.
The player movement would seem to have also had the effect of evening out the league somewhat and although the 3 Kings squad looks very strong on paper, all that strength in depth will be needed for the weeks that up to 8 of our players are away on NZ U/20 duty, for which we wish them every success.
So enough of the words, on to the deeds. Enjoy today’s game, it’s going to be an interesting year.
