My family and I have been engaged in TKU junior soccer for the last 5 years. Of my three children, two of them, Reuben now 10 (nearly 11) and Martine (8) have so much enjoyed the comraderie of other junior players and benefited from the teaching and skills of their coaches, that it was about time I gave something back to the club. Early in the season I initially agreed to the role of Junior Girls Coordinator. The journey alongside Selwyn Bradley (Junior Girls Head Coach) in setting up the new “girls format” has been fantastic. The junior girls coaching structure and parent support has set up a platform for an excellent year ahead. While I will now focus on junior soccer in general, I will still follow with keen interest the girl’s teams.

Outside of soccer, I am a keen family man (married to Barbara, and my eldest daughter is Moana) and an active sportsman. Road cycling and mountain biking occupy many early mornings, and my weekends are generally family based around friends and out of town adventures (although now soccer has started, the times away will be limited). Of course in between all this, I work full time as a Property Consultant for the Property Group Limited based in Auckland.

My simple goal this year is for all junior teams to enjoy their soccer experience with TKU. The junior committee and the networks associated with the committee will endeavour to make this happen and we all look forward to an exciting season ahead.
